Golden Lions release depth chart, sign multiple junior college standouts
Position battles to be settled during fall camp
PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football team released its depth chart Monday afternoon as the Golden Lions prepare for their season opener at home against Mississippi College on Sept. 1.
UAPB signed multiple junior college standouts during the offseason, and many are expected to make an immediate impact.
Here is a look at the depth chart: **Offense** * Quarterback: Skyler Perry (So.) * Running Back: Taeyler Porter (Sr.) * Wide Receiver: Josh Wilkes (Jr.) * Tight End: CJ Donaldson (Jr.) * Offensive Line: Keenan Forbes (Sr.), Jalen Cunningham (Jr.), D'Andre Douglas (Sr.), Trenton Harper (Jr.), Landon Green (So.) **Defense** * Defensive Line: Isaiah Jackson (Sr.), Javen Franklin (Jr.), Chris Council (Jr.) * Linebacker: Darius Davis (Sr.), Derrick Thomas (So.), D'Angelo Holmes (Jr.) * Cornerback: Karon Prunty (Jr.), Mark Evans (Sr.), Darius Ellis (So.) * Safety: Jeremiah Reed (Sr.), Jamal Petteway (Jr.), Quavian Carter (So.)
The Golden Lions have a lot of experience on both sides of the ball, and they are expected to be a contender in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Division this season.
Fall camp begins on Aug. 1, and the Golden Lions will have their first scrimmage on Aug. 12.
The regular season begins on Sept. 1 when UAPB hosts Mississippi College at Golden Lion Stadium.
