In a thrilling Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics held off a spirited comeback attempt by the Dallas Mavericks to secure a 106-98 victory on Sunday night. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics, scoring 35 points on 13-of-25 shooting. Jaylen Brown added 24 points, while Al Horford chipped in 16. Luka Doncic paced the Mavericks with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, but his supporting cast failed to provide enough firepower.
The Mavericks trailed by 16 points at halftime, but they rallied in the third quarter to cut the deficit to just five. Doncic knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter to tie the game at 81-81, but the Celtics responded with a 10-0 run to regain control.
