Early Life and Career

William Edward "Billy" Crystal was born on March 14, 1948, in Manhattan, New York City. His career began in the 1970s with his breakout role as Jodie Dallas on the ABC sitcom "Soap." Crystal gained wider recognition as a standup comedian and went on to star in numerous Hollywood films during the late 1980s and 1990s.
