Addressing Climate Change and Hunger through Collaboration
WEB AIM for Climate, a pioneering initiative, aims to address climate change and global hunger by uniting participants to drive significant growth. Launched at President Biden's Leaders Summit on Climate in April 2021, WEB AIM for Climate has three primary objectives:
- Increase research and development to create climate-resilient agriculture and food systems
- Invest in infrastructure and capacity building to support climate-smart agriculture
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders
WEB AIM for Climate, initiated by the United States and the United Arab Emirates at COP26, identifies targeted innovation and RD areas, including sustainable farming practices, resilient food production systems, and climate-adaptive technologies.
At the Innovation Sprint launch in Dubai, four focal areas for 2022 were announced: water security, climate-smart livestock, next-generation crops, and renewable energy for agriculture.
