Matt Fitzpatrick claimed victory at the 2023 RBC Heritage in a thrilling playoff against Jordan Spieth. The Englishman, who won the U.S. Open last year, birdied the first playoff hole at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Spieth, the three-time major winner, had a chance to force a second playoff hole after hitting his approach shot to within six feet on the par-5 18th, but his birdie putt missed the hole.

Fitzpatrick shot a final-round 67 to finish at 13-under par, while Spieth carded a 69. Both players had their chances to win in regulation, but Fitzpatrick missed a birdie putt on the 18th green to force the playoff.

The victory is Fitzpatrick's seventh on the PGA Tour and his second of the season. He joins Spieth as the only players to win multiple PGA Tour events in 2023.
