Giroud Stars in Rossoneri Triumph
Milan, Italy – AC Milan closed the gap on Serie A leaders Inter Milan to just one point after a convincing 3-1 victory over Jose Mourinho's AS Roma on Sunday night. The Rossoneri put on a dominant display at San Siro Stadium, with French striker Olivier Giroud leading the charge with a stellar performance.
Giroud opened the scoring in the 8th minute, expertly heading home a cross from Theo Hernandez. Milan doubled their lead just before the break when Rafael Leao's low drive found the back of the net. The home side continued to press in the second half, and Giroud scored his second of the match in the 68th minute, tapping in a rebound after a save from Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
Roma pulled one back through Tammy Abraham in the 77th minute, but it was too little, too late.
